Today marked a major milestone: Tim and Connor from Eco Energy Environment were able to connect up the 40 panel 12.8kW PV array on the roof to the inverter and meter so that we can now generate and export electricity. Despite today being largely wet and overcast, we still generated 5.94kWh over the daylight hours which is a good start.
We will be adding a modular battery storage capability and an EV charger in due course. However, there is a major delay on the Solar Watt batteries at the moment so these are unlikely to be with us until next year. We are also holding back on the EV charger as technology is moving on fast; we plan to install a Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) once this becomes commercially available.
