More on first fix

There has been a lot of activity on site over the past 2 weeks but it has largely been “more of the same“.

Graham of G T Electric Services Ltd  is still fully engaged on installing the cabling for the power, lights and same home installation.  I will update on the statistics in a later post but suffice to say that we have over 2 kms of twin and earth cabling and over one km of Cat 6 data cablings installed so far!

Garry of Total Home Environment has been back to install the ducting for the 2 air source heat pumps but there are still some parts awaited from the supply chain before this can be completed.

Thomas of Smart Control Technologies, who has designed the smart home aspects as well as the lighting, has been on a site visit to assist.  I will cover more about this installation in a later post.

Harry and Harry of H J Denison have been back to continue the first fix plumbing although there has been some delay due to a nasty bug doing the rounds.

We have let a contract with Ian of Reading Office Interiors Ltd for the installation of the dry lining (plaster board) throughout the house.  He will start in July.  We hope to engage the plasterer shortly.

Meanwhile, we have been chasing in the cable runs and installing first fix joinery including battening the basement to take the drylining and fixing noggins in the steels on the top floor.  We are taking the view that if the joinery will be hidden, then we will do it but anything that can be seen in the final version will be entrusted to a professional!
