We are well into the second fix and making good progress.
Graham of G T Electric Services is coming towards the completion of the tasks that he can do at the moment. We have had a real struggle finding downlighters for the top floor where we only have 68mm clearance above the ceilings due to the insulation build-up of the roof. We have lost count of the suppliers who have said that their products will work only to get a sample on site and find that the driver is larger than the actual light fitting and will not fit into the void! We think that we have finally found a product which will work but we will know next week whether that is the case.
Meanwhile, we have been busy on the following:
- fitting Ikea PAX wardrobes into Bedrooms 1 and 3
- adjusting the wardrobes to fill the space
- building frames above the wardrobes to create a built-in look and feel
- installing Howdens cabinets into the utility room
- boxing in the cisterns in the 3 bathrooms
- boxing in the MVHR pipes in the utility room
- creating a shelf and opening for the Smart Hub in the Plant Room
- planted numerous bulbs and set out plants in the rear garden
- started to create the trench to plant a privet hedge on the north boundary
Next week, we hope to have completed the majority of the electrics and plumbing; BT Openreach may actually connect a new line into the new building (we have had one abortive attempt so far); and we are expecting delivery of the new stairs.
