After the gales and rain brought in by the 3 named storms last week, it was great to have clear skies and lighter winds this week. As a result, Mark and Chris on Phillips Traditional Metal Roofing were able to make excellent progress. Joined by Aaron at the weekend, they have almost completed the SSAB Greencoat Pural BT steel roof supplied by Metal Solutions in UK. It has been wonderful to see the roof structure transform from timber to membrane and now fully encased in 0,6mm of steel. coated with oil seed rape used by SSAB rather than fossil fuels, which is more normal.
Meanwhile, the Insul Hub team are working on the section between the top of the blocks and the roof using a combination of 12mm render board, which finally arrived on Thursday, associated with plenty of insulation around the steels to mitigate any cold bridges or thermal losses.
This coming week we are looking forward to seeing the windows for the first time.
