A quick progress report

We have been fully focussed on doing work in the house ourselves, hence the lack of recent updates.  I will post a full update shortly but, in summary:

  • we have completed the fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms
  • we have laid the engineered oak flooring on the top floors and both landings
  • we have removed the temporary stairs
  • we have installed the two half flights of stairs to the top floor
  • we have boxed and finished all of the bathrooms pipes and toilets
  • the kitchen has been completed and christened for a family lunch
  • tiling in the bathrooms is complete
  • tiling of the hall has started
  • the electrician is connecting up lights and testing circuits
  • the showers have been fitted in 2 bathrooms but have been held up in a 3rd by an exploding shower panel (more of that later)
  • the balustrades for the balconies have been ordered
  • the spiral stairs for the rear balcony have arrived
  • and finally, we have tackled a vast array of fiddly jobs, such as beading around doors and wardrobes

We are still awaiting internal doors (due 20 February), which need to be in place before the carpet fitters can lay carpets in the bedrooms.
