Wires, wires and more wires

Graham, of G T Electric Services has been hard at work for the past 2 weeks pulling cables for the power sockets, for the lighting circuits and for the data cabling.  There are literally kms of cabling being installed!  The top floor now looks like some form of cave with cables dangling everywhere and there are cable trays running all the way down through the building.

We have been assisting in chasing out the cable runs so that all of the conduits are set into the woodcrete webs of the Isotex blocks.  This will provide a neat finish for the plasterer who will be applying plaster directly to the blocks.

We have also partially studded the basement using 47mm studs.  This involves drilling through the waterproofing into the walls; inserting a self sealing peg and them ensuring that the screw goes directly into the cavity on the peg so that the integrity of the waterproofing is maintained.  The resulting studs can then be dry lined with no chance of the plaster board and the waterproof membrane coming into contact later.
